with a little wind. Top scores in practice come from Freddy Krueger with 76.9m (252 feet) and
Curtis Sheers with 71.7m (235 feet)

saw some good scores from British Skiers, 1st was Glenn Campbell with 1.5 @10.25m, second William Asher
with 1 @10.25m and Jeremy Newby-ricci.

2001 World Games in Akita Japan. Britain's European Jump Champion, Jason Seels, leads the Water Ski
Competition after the first day of the competition. First day you say! Yes the event was delayed
due to high wind and rain.

Busy weekend coming up with 3 big events. First is the World Games from Akita in Japan. This event
is a kind of alternative Olympics and has tournament overall, barefoot and wakeboard. We should be
able to bring you daily updates from this event starting on Thursday.
On Saturday the Red Bull Rocketman at John Battleday Water Ski at Thorpe, GBR. A one day event but
with practice on Thursday and Friday, the first time ski flying has been in Europe. We will be
bringing you live coverage of this event via the chat room, starting from Friday. A selected field
of 10 men, the best in the world including Freddy Krueger and current world record holder Jaret
Llewellyn with 299 feet (91.1m).
On Saturday and Sunday from Princes GBR we have the Pro-Am, again some invited skiers including
world champion and record holder, Andy Mapple, Steve Cockeram and Jodi Fisher.

56.1m ahead of the overall winner Tim Hazelwood.

2001 GOODE Water Ski US National Championships.
Freddy Krueger retains his National jump title in USA with 66.1m (217 ft) ahead of Jimmy Siemers
with 64.9m (213 ft) and Ryan Fitts jumping 64.0m (210 ft).
Brenda Baldwin jumped 48.8m (160 ft) to take the ladies title.

Another pending trick world record set in the first round of the "Trophee of Losne-Chaugey" this
weekend by Nicolas Le Forestier.
His score of 11970 points is more than the existing record
of 11920 that he co-hold with Cory Pickos but less than the other pending record of 12220 set in

International Waterski Senior Championships - Tallington Lakes GBR.
Tim Hazelwood
from Lincolnshire (Senior 1) smashed the European and British jumping record with distance of 57.9
metres (190 feet).
Nikolas Frangistas,
the Greek champion from Athens, was first in the Senior 2 slalom, rounding
5 buoys on 12 metres.
Phil Hughes,
British, was second with 2 buoys at 12 metres, having won the previous day's three-round slalom
event with 6 buoys at 12 metres, having missed the gates at 11 metres.
The world champion from Bordeaux,
Thierry Malhomme,
won the Senior 1 slalom with 4 buoys on 10.75 metres. Click on the skiers names to see them in action.
