Bridge to Bridge Plans Go Ahead

At a meeting held by the Bridge to Bridge Committee on 15th October it was decided that planning for the
classic event would go ahead.
With an insurance premium expected to be announced by November 1, the committee believes that on this
proviso, the race can still be held.
Therefore a full weekend of racing is intended for Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December with the SMOC,
MOC, Veterans and Hotshots races on Saturday and the Pubmart Bridge to Bridge on Sunday.
When the committee is given the go-ahead on insurance, membership forms along with Sydney Bridge
entry forms will be immediately sent out.
Our advice is that the membership year is likely to be changed to cover the period 1 December
2001 - 30 November 2002. If this happens people who join and compete in this years Bridge to
Bridge could have the advantage being able to compete in next years Bridge to Bridge at no
extra membership cost.
With a limited timeframe, the Sydney Bridge to Bridge committee asks that all membership and
entry forms/payments are completed and returned as quickly as possible. Urgent attention will
also need to be given to Waterways licence renewals and medical examinations - do it now so
that the office can update records and everything is not left to the last minute.
Due to the time constraints, it is unlikely that a Draw Night will be held this year.
Each team will be notified by telephone with information on their starting position and
boat number. Competitors will need to supply their own boat numbers. Competitor information
packages including briefing sheets and sponsors decals will be made available on Friday 30
November and Saturday 1 December at Governor Phillip Park Windsor.
