30th September 2001
So, first up this morning is mens slalom, possibly the last worlds for Andy Mapple, so he will
want to go out on a gold. Mapple quite capable as he is by far the best under the pressure that
this event brings.
I am going to stick me neck out here and say that I think the gold will go to
a Brit, but Glenn Campbell. He has been very consistant this year and very confident when the
pressure is on. Lets no forget the rest of the field, its possible that anyone of the finalists
could win this!!

28th September 2001
2001 World Championships from Italy.
Mens slalom now completed with Chris Parrish USA top with his 3 @ 10.25m. Second with 2 @ 10.25m
are Drew Ross CAN and Steve Cockerham NZL. Mapple is in joint 6th place along with Jodi Fisher
and Glenn Campbell all on 1 @ 10.25m.

28th September 2001
2001 World Championships from Italy.
So far in mens slalom we have 3 skiers into the 10.25m line Chris Parrish leading with
3 @ 10.25m with Fabrizio Ciapponi ITA second with 2 and Jodi Fisher GBR third on 1 @ 10.25m.
In Milan 5 @ 11.25 was enough for a final place. I dont think that will be the case here, I suspect that
4 or 5 @ 10.75m will be needed.
In the overall battle Oleg Deviatovski scored 3 @ 10.75m, Jaret Llewellyn scored 5 @ 11.25m and
Julio Javier with 4 @ 11.25m.
27th September 2001
2001 World Championships from Italy. Well thats all from Italy for today, tommorrow brings the
remaining series of the mens slalom and the ladies jump.
27th September 2001
2001 World Championships from Italy.
7380 points for Elena Milakova RUS ensures she takes the last ski in the final with Frederique Savin FRA
on 6800 and Angeliki Andriopoulou GRE with 6740.
Other overall contenders finishing 4th, 5th and 6th are Rhoni Barton USA 6630, Marina Mosti ITA 6480
and Regina Jaquess USA 6460.
There are still a few scores missing, but thats how it stands at the moment.
27th September 2001
2001 World Championships from Italy.
Some trick score in, top at the moment is Clementine Lucine FRA with 6340 points and
Mariana Ramirez MEX with 6070 points and Sarah Gatty Saunt with 6050.
Quite often in the
trick event the judges have to review the runs so we do not get all the scores in order. In Milan
Nicolas Le Forestier was crowed world trick champion after the final only for the results to be changed
and the title given to Jaret Llewellyn.
27th September 2001
2001 World Championships from Italy.
Ladies tricks in Milan saw Tawn Harn take the title scoring 7880 points after dominating
the prelims and the final. Last time 5500 points were enough for a place in the final.
Ladies tricks series 1 and 2 under way now.
27th September 2001
2001 World Championships from Italy.
Stunning performance by Nicolas Le Forestier FRA with 11 070 points to take the lead after the
preliminary round in front of Cory Pickos USA on 10 960 points and Russel Gay USA with 10 710
points.
Oleg Deviatovski BLR scores 10 290 points and
9800 points for Jaret Llewellyn. This gives them a final place after steady scores to ensure the
overall positioning.
27th September 2001
2001 World Championships from Italy.
Series 2 mens tricks completed, 2 new leaders Marco Riva ITA with 9470 points and Sergio Font MEX with
8330 points. Great score for Marco with fellow overall contender Jason Seels GBR only scoring 6970.
That score should get Marco into the trick final on Saturday.
27th September 2001
2001 World Championships from Italy.
Dennis Van Oye NED leads mens tricks with 7070 points ahead of Lance Green NZL on 7000 after series 3.
27th September 2001
2001 World Championships from Italy. Great start for Marina Mosti with a tie for first place with
Emma Sheers on 3.5 @ 11.25m. Next were Natalie Hamrick and Jil Knutson with 3 and Kristi Overton
Johnson with 2. the final places look very tight as there is a long list of skiers all on 1 @ 11.25m.
Mens tricks up next with the remaining 3 series. Jaret Llewellyn is in a position to made modern
history in water skiing this week. If you remember from 2 years ago Jaret took the gold in tricks
and jump. Combine this with a possible gold in overall and the team event, he could walk away with
4 gold medals!!
In 99 at Milan there were 9 skiers through to the mens trick final the last one being Cory Pickos
scoring 9030 points. So working on the fact that everybody will have improved, that will look at
about 9500 points to get in the final.
27th September 2001
