Word Cup stops at Dubna Russia. 25th July 2004 Word Cup Russia - JUMP FINALS - Freddy Krueger puts in a best jump of 64.9m (213 feet) to continue his dominance of the mens jump event from Jaret Llewellyn with 63.8m and Kyle Eade jumping 59.8m.

Emma Sheers as normal put in maximum effort for the final with 48.5m (159 feet) from Clementine Lucine with 48.3m. Rhoni Barton in third place with 47.5m which topped off a great overall performance from June Fladborg with 46.5m on her Stokes skis.

25th July 2004 Word Cup Russia - TRICK FINALS - Mandy Nightingale pushed out in the trick final to 2nd place with 7290 with Clementine Lucine FRA scoring 7310 points for first place ffom Olga Pavlova BLR scoring 7030 for third. Rhoni Barton USA also improved on her first round score with 6380 points for fourth place.

Consistent performance from Nicolas Le Forestier ensured top position in the mens trick final scoring nearly 12 thousand points with 11810. Russel Gay USA improved by a massive margin over his first round to finish second with 11290 from Jaret Llewellyn with 10650


25th July 2004 Word Cup Russia - SLALOM FINALS - What a turn round in the mens slalom with Glenn Campbell showing he is most certainly a worthy winner battling the conditions to take the top prize with 2.00 @ 10.75m. Marcus Brown USA and Terry Winter USA also beat the seasoned pros to take the next two slots, both with 4.50 @ 11.25m.

Very close in the ladies slalom with 5.50 @ 11.25m from first round leader Natalie Hamrick from Emma Sheers AUS with 4.00 @ 11.25m and 2.00 from Rhoni Barton.


24th July 2004 Conditions far from ideal for the jumping which saw Freddy Krueger USA jump 65.5m (215 feet) from Jaret Llewellyn CAN with 64.4m and Frenchman Gregory Moulin 60.3m.

Domination in the ladies event again falls to Emma Sheers with 47.5m (156 feet) from Rhoni Barton with 46.1m


24th July 2004 Only the top 3 score over 10000 points in the trick event with the leader being Nicolas Le Forestier FRA with 11 710 points from Aliaksei Zharnasek BLR 10 590 and Jaret Llewellyn CAN 10 360.

Ladies top 2 are Mandy Nightingale USA with 6580 and Clementine Lucine FRA 6060.


24th July 2004 With the first round of slalom over, Jamie Beauchesne USA leads the way into the finals with 6.00 @ 10.75m From Glenn Campbell with 2.00 @ 10.75m. Steve Cockeram, Will Asher and Jason Paredes all failed to make the final.

In the ladies event both Natalie Hamrick USA and Sheers Emma AUS are in front with 4.00 @ 11.25m from Karen Truelove USA on 2.00.


24th July 2004 The first of the Tournament World Cup starts today in Russia at Dubna city.

A big payout with over 100,000 USD spread over all six events has attracted all of the worlds elite skiers.

The last World Cup was in 2000 with Andy Mapple ending up winning the mens slalom and Fred Krueger winning the mens jump.


23rd July 2004 World World Senior Trophy and European Senior Championships from Moissac, France.

Outstanding performances from Richard Lambert USA in Mens 3 scoring 1.00 @ 10.75m and Oleg Nadin BLR in the trick event with 6960 points.

22nd July 2004 A busy week in Europe, which is already under way with the European Juniors and Dauphin Championships in Krenek CZE.

21st July 2004 The Wednesday Evening Rankings List Slalom event at Tallington Lakes in England saw the best of British slalom skiers before their flights to Russia. Jez Newby-Ricci came out on top with a best score of 2.00 @ 10.25m with Glenn Campbell just one buoy behind.

The ladies event saw a visit from US star Michelle Simpson scoring 2.50 @ 11.25m.

Splash of the Titans. 15th July 2004 On Friday 16th July, 8 of the worlds top barefooters meet at Thorpe Lake in London to compete in a head to head competition to decide who is the 2004 Splash of the Titans Champion.

This unique event combines the three barefoot disciplines, tricks, slalom and jump into one and operates as a one on one knockout competition.

The first Splash was held in 2002 and was won by Ron Scarpa, 4 times world champion.

13th July 2004 Beautiful sunny skies graced Recetto for this annual Competition, two rounds was the Slalom format for this event. In the first round, Glen Campbell (GBR) set the bar with a credible score of 1.50 @ 10.25m followed by Jeremy Newby-Ricci (GBR) who managed 1.00 @ 10.25m and Frederic Halt (SUI) who ran 10.75m but was unable to get his ski around buoy one at 10.25m, so scored 6 @ 10.75m.

In the second round, both Jodi Fisher (GBR) and Thomas Degasperi (ITA) showed their current form with a score of 1.00 @ 10.25m. A score that was equalled by Frederic Halt after a unique re-run at 10.25m because of an aeroplane that was buzzing the slalom course and again by Jeremy Newby-Ricci.

12th July 2004 Some great results from the girls at the Tri Lakes July Record event at the weekend, first coming from Danyelle Bennett scoring 2.00 @ 11.25m, 5580 points in tricks and 42.8m.

Current world Overall Champion Regina Jaquess impressed the crowd with 2.00 @ 10.75m, 7910 point (new US record) and 48.0m (157 feet)

11th July 2004 Injuries continue to be an epidemic at the moment with it spreading to the UK.

Last week Danny Budd broke his leg wakeboarding and today Stuart Marsdon has broken some ribs at the Wiremill rankings list Jump event. These 2 are the driving force behind the London Night Jump. Get well soon both of you.

8th July 2004 PlanetWaterSki are pleased to anounce the launch of Trick Writer Pro3.

The first in a series of DVD's designed to train Tournament Waterski Judges to write tricks.

Pro3 gives details of the concepts of a trick run and describes some of the basic tricks with slow-motion examples.

Pro3 also contains many trick passes, along with their shorthand for practicing with.

6th July 2004 Trophy Lakes Record provided an alternative venue for some of the worlds best slalom skiers. Included in the field was Jeff Rodgers who came out on top scoring 1.00 @ 10.25m from Javior Julio with 3.00 @ 10.75m.

In the ladies event Karen Truelove put in 3 good scores, the best of 3.00 @ 10.75 just ahead of April Coble Eller with 2.00 @ 10.75m.

4th July 2004 Malibu Tour from Lacanau. Will Asher ended up in a ski off to qualify for today's men's slalom final after tying with fellow team mates Jason Seels and Jeremy Newby Ricci and Frenchman Boris Laval on 2.00 @ 10.75 in the 1st round.

Jason Seels was pushed out in the ski off but Jeremy Newby Ricci then went on to make the early running in the final with a creditable 1.50 @ 10.25m before Will Asher took over the lead with 3.00 @ 10.25m.

There the lead sat for the whole competition until last skier out, American Chris Parrish ran a very smooth 4.00 @ 10.25m for the win.

Glenn Campbell made it two British skiers on the podium by tying for 3rd with 2.00 buoys on 10.25m but beating Thomas Degasperi and Drew Ross by virtue of his better 1st round score of 2.00 on 10.25m. Report by John Wood.

Emma maintained her first round lead with wins in both events along with Curtis who took the mens jump title with 69.3m (227 feet).

3rd July 2004 Back on top form Ben Favret skiing at Ski Ranch on Sunday scored 3.00 @ 10.25m, a score that will make the top 10 in the world rankings list.

3rd July 2004 Malibu Tour from Lacanau. This event so far is the Sheers family event with Emma on top in Slalom and jump again and Curtis leading the jump with 70.6m

1st July 2004 The pro skiers move to France this week end for the Malibu Tour from Lacanau. This venue has been the home of the French Masters for many years producing some outstanding performances.

Last year 12,110 points from Nicolas Le Forestier and 2.00 @ 10.25m in both rounds for Drew Ross. Drew also took the title in 2002, so will be looking to make it 3.
