The 43rd US Masters Waterski Tournament from Callaway Gardens USA. In the year without the world championships, this event is often referred to as the main event of the year. This is questionable according to which boat you ski behind. This event is part of the Correct Craft road show and over the years has always been a dream to ski in.

Until recently an overall event. I remember this caused a bit of friction with the cancellation of the overall event in favour of bringing in ski flying, good for the spectators, but bad for water skiing.

Last year a major dispute over the prize money saw most of the slalom skiers pull out of the mens event, handing the title to Andy Mapple.

Who knows what will erupt this year, as far as I can make out, everybody is happy at the moment.

Last year in the ski flying we saw Emma Sheers set a distance of 219 feet 66.6m to equal the world record.

Nicolas Le Forestier tricked 11,200, I think they announced this as a course record.

Mens ski flying produced some close jumping and to a high standard with the winner emerging in the form of Freddy Krueger who stepped closer to Jarets record with 283 feet (86.2m) with Scot Ellis close behind on 272 feet. Curtis Sheers took 3rd place with 259 ahead of Jason Seels scoring 256 feet.

The womens slalom was a close run thing with the top 3 separated by only ¾ of a buoy by Neville, Truelove and Overton-Johnson.

So where is the money going to be this year???

Women Slalom
Karen Truelove is the on form girl and will win!!

Men Slalom
I will always say Mapple, beaten by Chris Parrish a few weeks ago!! But that was the first time he has been beaten in over a year, mayby 2.

Women Ski Fly
Emma Sheers gets my vote, but will be pushed hard by Elena Milakova.

Men Ski Fly
Freddy Krueger and Scot Ellis are performing out of this world but watch out for Jason Seels. Leader of the Pro Tour right up until the end of last year and always up there at the top. Well over due a major win himself.
