FISU (The International University Sports Federation) has awarded the 2006 World University Water Ski Championships to the United States. The torch has been passed from Balakovo, Russia to the little town of Plover, Wisconsin which is located a few miles south of Stephens Point.
If the 2006 edition is anything like the 2002 and 2004 events, Labor Day, 2006 promises to be the most exciting weekend that Plover has ever had. Click here for full details.

Water ski World Cup Doha Qatar Finals.
No improvement in the conditions with the jump event cancelled.
Jodi Fisher finised the season as he started with a major event win with 5.00 @ 10.75m from Matteo Ianni scoring 5.00 @ 11.25m and then Jason Seels with 2.25 buoys. Chris Parrish finished in 5th place assuring him the World Cup title.
Mens tricks saw the top 3 all score over ten thousand with Nic on top scoring 10 820 points from Jaret 10 460 and Russel with 10 260. This score means that Russel with take the trick title.
With no mens jump, that leaves Freddy to take the title from Jaret. Click here for Doha results.

The World Cup curse strikes again! The slalom prelims were run at 34mph with Chris Parrish the leader into the finals with 6.00 @ 11.25m, Jodi Fisher and then Fabio Ianni.
In the trick event Russel Gay is leading with 10 490 from Oleg Deviatovski with 9740 and Nic with 9710.
The jump event did not go ahead and will hopefully be run on Saturday. The weather for Saturday looks good with it being sunny with 10mph wind.

Dates have just been confirmed for the big jump weekend in August. On Friday and Saturday 26-27 at Mjaer is Norway there is the Jump Challenge 2005 and then it's a quick trip across to England for the London International Night Jump on Sunday 28th august.

We checked the weather and it looks like we are going to get good conditions for the finals of the Water Ski World Cup, sunny and in the 70s over next weekend in the Arabian Gulf at Doha in Qatar.
With only the mens events taking place and the event running on Friday and Saturday.
60,000 US Dollars up for grabs and Freddy Krueger and Chris Parrish currently lead in the jump and slalom and it looks like they will hold their positions unless there are any disasters.

Formel Fun is a company based in Germany producing carbon fibre products.
Mainly they are involved in the development of motor cycle parts, but have progressed to the water sports area.

The Sunset Team Slalom at Jack Travers saw one of the best slalom scores of the year from Jodi fisher scoring 3.00 @ 10.25m from Drew Ross with 2.25 @ 10.75m.
Third place was Jason Seels with 1.50 @ 10.25m, think this is a PB for Jason. Ladies event was won by Geraldine Jamin with 3.00 @ 10.75m.

One of the final pro events of the year this week end is the Sunset Team Slalom at Jack Travers. Also a reminder that there is still a world cup stop left for the men at Doha in Qatar on the 10-12 December.

Phillip Soven continues his run of good fortune at the week end with a win at the HSBC Wakeboard World Cup Singapore on the Bedok Reservoir.
Pulled by the Mastercraft X-Star, Phillip takes the $15K first prize from Daniel Watkins. His second place here keeps Daniel at the top of the leader board with only the Doha Qatar stop to go.
Chen Li Li from China took the pro womens title.
