Event Conflict!!
On a more disappointing note, we have received many emails from skiers and fans with concerns over the clash of major events for next year.
If the newly updated World Calendar on the IWSF web site is correct, then it has happened again.
Dubna World Cup, same weekend as the National Championships in Europe.
No money, No World Cup points and No Elite ranking points for European Skiers.
I know that National event dates can be changed, but will federations do this for a few of there skiers??
Jul 27-29 World Cup Dubna
Jul 27-29 European Nationals Weekend
Same as the US Open last year the Diablo Shores Pro Am is the same weekend as the EAME Championships!
Sep 20-23 EAME Open Individual Championships
Sep 21-23 Diablo Shores Pro Am
Mens Slalom
This will cut Jodi FISHER GBR (World Cup Champion) out of the end of year World Cup race.
Womens Slalom
This will cut Sarah GREEN GBR (World Cup Champion) and Clementine LUCINE FRA (World Cup Runner up) out of the end of year World Cup race.
Mens Tricks
This will cut Nicolas LE FORESTIER FRA (World Cup Champion), Aliaksei ZHARNASEK BLR (World Cup Runner up) Oleg DEVIATOVSKI BLR (World Cup 4th place) out of the end of year World Cup race.
Womens Tricks
This will cut Clementine LUCINE FRA (World Cup Runner up) out of the end of year World Cup race.
Womens Jump
This will cut the top five June FLADBORG DEN, Angeliki ANDRIOPOULOU GRE, Clementine LUCINE FRA, Jakalyn HUNTER GBR and Maria VIBRANIETSOVA GRE out of the end of year World Cup race.
If the World Cup remains with only a couple of events for Slalom, then its over now!
As far as Elite Ranking list points go, the story is not so bleak for the EAME skiers, however they still start the season at a disadvantage.

Seasons greeting to all our visitors.
It you haven't already seen it, the Austrians have published the web site for the Open Tournament World Championships.
The web site is well produced and looks like it will supply all the info for fans that can't make it to Linz for the 27th August 2007.
Click on the logo to have a look round.

McCormicks
It looks like Freddy Kreuger has saved it to the very end to set the longest distance ever with a reported 74.1m (243 feet) at McCormick's. Full details when it is confirmed. If approved this distance will be a new World Record. |
