Up in Italy at the Trofeo Citta di Roma, this event saw one of the best scores posted this year, and it came from Ivan Morros from Spain. Scoring 3.00 @ 10.25m in the second round.
Great scores from the Botas family with Cristina scoring 1.00 @ 11.25m in the Senior ladies and Nadine with 4.50 @ 12.00m in the open ladies.

2006 Diablo Shores Pro
Leader after the first round is Chris Rossi with 2.00 @ 10.75m from Aaron Larkin and Jodi Fisher with 0.50 @ 10.75m. Conditions are not great with high winds.

Starting today, Wells Fargo will present the 2006 Diablo Shores Pro-Am Tournament from Brentwood in California thought to Sunday September 24th.
The pro slalom skiers will ski in three qualifying rounds with the top two combined scores qualifying for the head-to-head competition.

This week sees the 2006 Pan American Championships taking part in Acuaski, Tequesquitengo Morelos in Mexico.
The site is located about 90 minutes from Mexico City and 30 minutes south of Cuernavaca.
Entrants include Karen Truelove and Freddy Krueger.

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships - Trick Finals
Outstanding performance by Nicolas Le Forestier to win gold in the trick final scoring 11 960 points from Aliaksei Zharnasek in second with 10 670 and Olivier Fortamps with 10 290.
In the ladies event it was a close run thing with Clemtine being pushed down to sixth place. Elena Thomsen was first out and set 7060 to secure third place with Karina Sergeeva scoring 7140 for silver and gold winner was Marion Aynaud from France with 7230 points.

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships - Jump Finals
Marie Vympanietsova went out first in the final and held the lead with 50.2m all the way until there was only six skiers remaining. Nancy Chardin was next out and increased the leading score to 50.4m.
Then it came to the gold medal winner Angeliki Andriopoulou with a massive 53.9m. Clementine Lucine out next with only Elana to go. Clem tried so hard that she set a new French record with 52.8m to take the silver. Elena had a best jump of 51.4m to take the bronze.
Massive 66.9m from Christian Rampanelli to set the early lead in what has been an impressive return to top flight competition.
Jason Seels set a 66.8m distance on his second jump but just couldn't get any more on his third.
Last skier out was Sebastien Di Pasqua with a hard target to meet. The wind condition was changing all the time and Seb was battling from the start. Best score for him was 65.0m for third place behind Jason.

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships - Slalom Final - Men
Marco Riva and Jean Baptiste Faisy held the lead in this event with 2.00 @ 10.75m until the very last skier, Thomas Degasperi. Thomas cleared 11.25m to score 3.00 @ 10.74m to take the gold medal.
Marco Riva and Jean Baptiste Faisy then took part in a run off to decode second place as they both had the same score in the prelims. Jean Baptiste won this after Marco had set 1.00 @ 10.75m

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships - FINALS DAY
Mens slalom final is under way in what are the best conditions we have seen at the site all week. There is a wind, but it is very light. The plan is to run all the finals today and it there is time and the wind stays down, then the overall finals.
I have another set of photos and will sort them out and put them online shortly.

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships
A close finish in the ladies slalom final as tactics by Geraldine Jamin won her the gold medal after running the 12 meter pass with the wind and scoring 3.25 @ 11.25m. Sarah Green held the lead for a while, but had to settle for silver scoring 3.00 @ 11.25m.
In third place were Clementine Lucine and Anais Amade with 2.00 @ 11.25m, but Clementine gets the medal due to a better prelim score. Mens slalom final will be Sunday morning.
In the mens jump event Sebastien Di Pasqua is leading after the prelims with 65.6m from Jason Seels with 65.0m.

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships
Elena Thomsen held on to her lead from Friday to secure top spot in the ladies jump prelims with 51.5m. Second and third were Clementine Lucine with 49.9m and Angeliki Andriopoulou with 48.9m. These scores for Clementine and Angelili were enough to give then the top two places in the overall.
The other two qualifiers for the overall final were Marina Mosti and Natalia Berdnikova.
Mens jump is underway now to be followed by either the slalom or trick final depending on the wind condition. |

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships
A bit of excitement in the mens slalom where a run off occurred between five skiers for the last two places in the final.
Top of the qualifiers were Thomas Degasperi and Clint Stadibaur with 1.00 @ 10.75m. Great skiing all round with the wind up and down all day.
One shock in the ladies slalom prelims saw Irene Reinstaller go out of the event with top scores being Nicole Arthur and Geraldine Jamin, both with 2.00 @ 11.25m
The day finished off with series four of ladies jump.
With no score on the rankings list since 2002 we saw Elena Thomsen (Milakova) stamp her return to her first jump competition in four years!!
Elena put in 3 perfect jumps showing that amazing style we remember to give her 51.5m securing her a place in her second final.
The remainder of the jump will conclude tomorrow possibly followed by the trick finals.

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships
Friday morning and the slalom event got underway with good condition for the first hour. Still very hot and sunny, but the wind is causing problems again. If the wind drops they will be running some jumping at the end of the day.
There is a live web cam being carried around the site giving you a new frame every minute.

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships
Windy conditions continued today which saw all of the Ladies and Mens trick event completed in one day. The tow boat followed another boat all day in an attempt to keep the water flatter. This seemed to work as the scores were higher than expected.
Top spot going into the final is Maryia Veramchuk 6860 from Natalia Berdnikova with 6450. Current EAME champion, Clementine Lucine managed to scrape through into the final with a score of 5500 points. Also on her return to top flight competition, Elena Thomsen (Milakova) Elena made the final with 5530.
Mens event leader is Nic Le Forestier with 10 290 from Oleg Deviatovski with 9840.

The MasterCraft US Open of Waterskiing
Under way at lake Grew with some of the qualifying rounds completed with trick leader Whitney McClintock with 7460 points from Mandy Nightingale on 7160.
In the mens event after 2 rounds Jimmy Siemers is the top scorer with 11 900 point from Cory Pickos with 10 740. Natalie Hamrick leads the ladies slalom from Regina Jaquess.
Freddy Krueger continues his dominance of the mens jump event with a best jump of 67.7m (222ft) from Jaret Llewellyn with 65.7m.

The MasterCraft US Open of Waterskiing
The event starts today on Lake Grew at the US HQ Lake in Polk City.
Then it moves on the Downtown Disney and Lake Buena Vista finishing with the Night Final on the 16th September.

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships
The wind today has dropped a little. With the Team event cancelled, this has given the skiers a chance to get out on the choppy water for a practice. Apart from the wind, it is really hot and sunny.
Today we saw Elena Milakova in practice action for the first time in some years. She looks good.
Tomorrow (Thursday) we start the event with Prelim Tricks all day. Depending on the wind, it looks like slalom on Friday and Jump on Saturday. The team results are going to come from the prelims and finals.

The 2006 EAME OPEN Championships
The 2006 OPEN Championships, starts on Friday now at the Olympic Rowing Centre of Schinias – Marathonas in Athens in memory of skier Vagelis Papakyrikos.
The move is because of the very high winds around the area. Internet connection is very poor and no connection in the hotel.

In Adna, Washington the World Championship will be held on September 9th –17th.
Lake Silverado lies an hour north of Portland Oregon and hour south of Seattle Washington.
This 2675 foot lake is lined by 1400 trees and will be the longest private ski lake to have ever hosted a World Championship.

Recetto International, Italy
Late results from June at the three round of slalom at Recetto which saw Natalie Hamrick go within half a buoy of equalling Kristi Overtons world slalom record set in 1996. Natalie score 0.50 @ 10.25m in the final from Irene Reinstaller 5.00 @ 11.25m and Marina Mosti 4.00 @ 11.25m. British world champion Arthur Nicole came in fourth with 3.50 @ 11.25m.
In the mens event Steve Cockeram took the win in the final with 1.00 @ 10.25m from the on form star Thomas Degasperi half a buoy behind. Credit to Brit Glenn Campbell who set the best score of the event with 2.00 @ 10.25m in the second round.

Ivan Morros was on form this week with a win in open mens slalom scoring 2.00 @ 10.25m from Carlo Allais with 1.00 @ 10.25m.
In the ladies event top spot went to Irene Reinstaller with 5.00 @ 11.25m from Anais Amade.

The Rocketman Jump and Tower Slalom
Ryan Dodd posted the longest jump with 65.6m (215ft) in a much depleted entry list.
Parrish wins this event with three consistant scores on the 10.75m line length, the best being 5.00 @ 10.75m

The Aqua Cup in France saw another amazing performance from the Junior (under 14) French skier Sacha Descuns. Sachas best score was 0.50 @ 10.25m at 55kph. Jean Baptist Faisy won the open event with 2.00 @ 10.25m
