World Cup Changshu China 30th September to the 2nd October.
Situated just south of the Yangtze River, Changshu promises to be the biggest event in water ski history.
With the disappointing news this week that water skiing will again have to wait until after 2012 to be considered for the Olympic Games, it is important that the World Cup continues to raise the media profile of the sport.

Current overall world champion Regina Jaquess breaks the Collegiate National Jump record at the South Central Regional Championships from, this time at the Aquaplex in Austin Texas. She jumped 46.3m (152 ft) to beat her previous record by 5 feet.
Also at the same event, Canadian Ryan Dodd jumping on a 5 foot ramp going 31.7 mph jumped 201 feet, setting a new collegiate record, and becoming the first person to go 200 feet at this height and speed.

The 2004 US Open Water Ski Championships, World Cup stop will take place on the 19th-21st November at Mills Pond Park in Fort Lauderdale. This change of location is due to hurricanes Charley and Frances which have created a back log of events at West Palm Beach. Click here for full details

EAME Championships from Recetto in Italy.
Jason Seels pulls off the performance of a life time to take the gold in the mens overall final. Setting a new British overall record in the process, 2.00 @ 10.75m, 9170 points in tricks and a jump of 67.0m.

Clementine Lucine holds her lead after the prelims to take the ladies gold from Marina Mosti and Anais Amade.

EAME Championships from Recetto in Italy. Close finish in the jump final with 2 inches separating the top 3. Massive improvement from Thomas Fenzl to secure 3rd place with Christian Rampanelli in 2nd, both with 66.0m (216ft).
Jason Seels maintained his lead after the 1st round and improved on last years bronze to take the gold with 66.1m.

EAME Championships from Recetto in Italy. The European slalom champion is Fabio Ianni scoring 2.00 @ 10.25 holding his nerve in the closest final for some time. Will Asher and Oleg Dzeviatouski, second and third both scoring one buoy less.
In the ladies slalom final Sarah Gatty Saunt was unable to match the 2.00 @ 10.75m set by gold medal winner Anais Amade.
Still to come today is the mens jump final and the overall finals.

EAME Championships from Recetto in Italy. Clementine, June Fladborg and Nicolas all win gold in the first of the finals today.
My calculations for the top 4 men after tricks and jump were correct and they stayed the same after slalom, only in a different order. They are Oleg Dzeviatouski, Jason Seels, Marco Riva and Tom Asher.

EAME Championships from Recetto in Italy. British skiers dominate mens jumping with Jason Seels on top with a best jump of 65.7m (216ft) from Damien Sharman with 65.2m.
Fourth place went to Thomas Asher on 63.4m. They were split by home jumper Christian Rampanelli with 65.1m
Tomorrow will see the remainder of the mens slalom followed by the finals.
Also confirmed today are the finalists for the ladies overall final. Current world overall record holder Clementine Lucine leads the field from Angeliki Andriopoulou, Marina Mosti and Anais Amade.
Mens overall will have to wait until after the remainder of the slalom event tomorrow morning. On my calculations the top 4 men after tricks and jump are Oleg Dzeviatouski, Marco Riva, Jason Seels and Tom Asher (not official).

EAME Championships from Recetto in Italy. Todays events are mens series 4 and 3 slalom followed by ladies tricks and all the mens jump.
Leader after the trick prelims is Clementine Lucine with 7080 from Volha Paulava scoring 6730.

EAME Championships from Recetto in Italy. Skiing over for today and the ladies jump saw June Fladborg take the lead with 50.4m (165ft) from Clementine Lucine just behind with 50.1m
Third place after the prelims is Angeliki Andriopoulou on 49.6m
Tomorrow will see the mens series 4 and 3 slalom followed by ladies tricks and all the mens jump.

EAME Championships from Recetto in Italy. Results of the team event from yesterday, 1st was France with 7,444 points from Belarus with 7,349 points. Third and fourth were Great Britain and Italy.

Results in so far today are the the ladies slalom and the mens tricks. Currently leaders are Sarah Gatty Saunt GBR with 4.50 @ 11.25m and Nicolas Le Forestier FRA with 11 900 points. Still to go todat is the ladies jump prelims.

The US Open has been postponed due to hurricanes Frances and Charley.

EAME Championships from Recetto in Italy.
Tomorrow starts with the team event followed by the Opening Ceremony and team Prize giving.
Prelims are Thursday to Saturday morning followed by the finals and then the overall final on Sunday afternoon.

Great Slalom skiing all the way at the Trofeo Tommassini
over the weekend in the warm-up to the Europeans at Recetto.
With Fabio Ianni scoring 3.00 @ 10.25m, Jez Newby-Ricci, Jodi Fisher and Glen Campbell all rounding 2.00 @ 10.25m.

Starting on the 15th September will be the EAME Championships from Recetto in Italy. This is the last of the major tournaments in Europe before the skiers move out to China for the next stop of the World Cup.

In form Karen Truelove posted some great results in the Clint Culp Record slalom at the weekend running 11.25m in all 3 rounds. Karens best score was 3.5 @ 10.75m (39 off).
Jeff Rodges took the open mens win scoring 1.50 @ 10.25m (41 off) in 2 rounds and on the jump side Freddy Krueger put in 66.1m (217 ft) for the win.

Under way this week is the European Championships for Disabled from Varia Ski, Groningen in Holland. Already there have been world records broken.

World Junior Championships from Sunset Lakes Groveland, Florida. Slick work by the organisation saw this event finished on time before the wind and rain set it. Canada took the team gold with the team scoring the highest in all 3 events. click here for all the results.

World Cup from Thorpe Park in London, The British Open.
Bright sunshine and still water gave this event a fitting backdrop to the last event of Andy Mapple.

World Cup from Thorpe Park in London, The British Open.
This years event is slalom only and The Mapple Machine will be there to run his final UK slalom pass in front of a huge crowd that will pack the famous banks.
