There are two more rather big events this weekend at the Isles of Lake Hancock in Central Florida. First is the U.S.
Team Trials for the World University Games to be held in China this summer. Thirteen or so athletes are competing for
six positions on the team.
See www.ncwsa.com for details.
Skiers include Jimmy Siemers, Regina and Renee Jaquess, Matt Curmi, Joey Blakley, Tarah Benzel, Michelle Simpson, Justin Allen,
Tyler McDermeit, Mike Hirst, Eric Phillips, Marcus Brown.
The team trials will be held this Friday followed by the annual NCWSA All Stars tournament over the weekend. While the
team trials allows for incoming freshman to compete, the All Stars competition is based on skier performance during the
past collegiate season, so the soon to be freshman will not be skiing in Saturday/Sunday competition.
So, bottom line is that one HUGE amount of skiiing will be going on this weekend in Central Florida!! Jack Travers
tournament, US University Team Trials, Collegiate All Stars, and the Big Air Challenge. With all this skiing going
on, maybe, just maybe, for this weekend only, Central Florida could again be called the water ski captial of the world, eh?!
