British Water Ski showed there is yet more depth to the successes of their Open squad by dominating the European Under 21 Water Ski Championships in Agrinio, Greece this weekend.

Proving the confidence shown in them by both the UK Sport and Sport England Lottery backed programmes the skiers won the gold in the team event and backed this up with four silvers and a gold in the individual competition, Will Asher taking the men's Overall title, a silver in the slalom and a bronze in the jump.

"The gold medal from this squad is 2 years ahead of expectation", said Performance Director John Wood, "as all but one of the skiers still has at least two years in this age category".

Amongst the silver medals was one for 16 year old Chris Sumner in the tricks and Scotland's Nicole Arthur in the slalom. Arthur is still only 15 years of age and this event was in her programme as part of the build up to the World Junior Championships in Chile in January.

British Water Ski's Disabled squad were also in action this weekend following up their European Championship title in August by also winning the European Cup in Sweden.
